The possibility of Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew remarrying has been dismissed by royal author Victoria Arbiter.
She explained that there is little incentive for the Duke and Duchess of York to complicate their current relationship by tying the knot again.
Despite ongoing speculation, Arbiter emphasized that their existing situation seems to suit them both just fine.
Prince Andrew proposed to Sarah Ferguson at Flores Castle in the Scottish Borders on his 26th birthday, February 19, 1986.
Following a grand ceremony at Westminster Abbey on July 23 of the same year, the couple was granted the titles of Duke and Duchess of York by the late Queen Elizabeth II.
However, their marriage faced challenges early on as Prince Andrew focused on his naval career while Fergie cared for their children, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
In 1992, the couple legally separated amidst scandal, including infamous photos of the Duchess with US businessman John Bryan.
The Yorks’ divorce was finalized in 1996, leading to Fergie’s estrangement from the royal family.
Over time, relations have improved, with Sarah Ferguson even joining the royals for their Christmas Day walkabout at Sandringham.
Despite sharing a home at Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park, Fergie maintains they are content as divorced partners.
Citing Fergie’s own words about their happiness as a divorced couple, Arbiter highlighted their loyalty and functioning relationship as reasons against remarriage.
Sarah Ferguson, 64, recently disclosed her battle with malignant melanoma, her second cancer diagnosis within a year.
After undergoing a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery, she expressed gratitude for her medical team’s vigilance in detecting the melanoma early.
Following a wellness retreat in Austria, Sarah Ferguson returned home to Royal Lodge where she is surrounded by her family.
In a message on Instagram, she urged others to be vigilant about checking for signs of melanoma in moles.
Despite the shock of another cancer diagnosis, Fergie remains positive and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support.
