The Queen’s Scottish residence of Balmoral Castle holds a special place in the hearts of the young royals, offering a serene retreat amidst nature’s bounty.
Spanning approximately 50,000 acres, this picturesque estate boasts mountains, rivers, lakes, and enchanting gardens, making it a favored destination for Her Majesty’s family during the sun-kissed months.
Following a jubilant June commemorating her Platinum Jubilee, the Queen eagerly anticipates her annual sojourn to the Highlands, where she embraces a more relaxed and informal pace of life, occasionally even rolling up her sleeves for a bit of dishwashing.
Despite grappling with mobility challenges in recent times, the Queen remains resolute in her plans to grace Scotland with her presence this summer, with reports hinting at preparations underway to accommodate esteemed guests.
Notably, a £20,000 wheelchair has been discreetly installed in one of her cherished cottages within the estate, Cragoan Lodge, a charming 7-bedroom stone abode frequented by friends and family during their visits.
Security measures have also been ramped up around the lodge, including the installation of a new security gate, an intercom system, and state-of-the-art CCTV cameras, all in readiness for the imminent arrival of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
With a total of 12 great-grandchildren under her regal wing, the Queen’s brood comprises a delightful array of young princes and princesses, including the likes of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, August (Princess Eugenie‘s offspring), and Sienna (Princess Beatrice‘s little one).
Among the other cherubic members are Zara Tindall’s trio – Mia, Lena, and Lucas, Peter Philip’s duo – Isla and Savannah, as well as Prince Harry‘s adorable pair – Archie and Lilibet.
Last year witnessed a heartwarming reunion at Balmoral, with several of the monarch’s great-grandchildren gracing the estate, creating cherished memories against the backdrop of its majestic beauty.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with their offspring George, Charlotte, and Louis, culminated their summer holidays with a memorable escapade at the royal abode, immersing themselves in a plethora of outdoor pursuits.
From fishing to horse riding, cycling, and hiking, the Cambridges reveled in the tranquility and splendor of the Scottish retreat, forging enduring bonds amidst nature’s embrace.
