Royal Titles of Harry and Meghan Stripped by UK Parliament

Harry and Meghan, known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have encountered a significant setback as the UK Parliament made the decision to remove their royal titles following the launch of their website, Sussex.edu.

The website not only showcases information about Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, but also includes links to the couple’s non-profit organization, the Archwell Foundation, and their production company, Archwell Productions.

The unveiling of this website has triggered outrage and criticism from various royal enthusiasts and commentators who have accused the Sussexes of exploiting their royal status and violating their agreement with the royal family after stepping back as senior royals in 2020.

The existence of the website prompted a rapid and severe reaction from the UK Parliament, which conducted a debate on Tuesday to amend the 1917 Titles Deprivation Act.

During the debate, Conservative MP Bob Saley proposed a motion alleging that the Sussexes had contravened the terms of the Act by utilizing their titles and the Royal Coat of Arms for commercial purposes, thus undermining the dignity and integrity of the Crown and the Royal Family.

The motion put forth the belief that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had forfeited their right to use their titles and the Royal Coat of Arms due to activities that are deemed incompatible with the monarchy’s values and traditions.

With 312 MPs supporting the motion and 213 MPs opposing it, a majority of 99 votes favored the Government-endorsed motion.

The Government contended that the Sussexes had shown a lack of respect and gratitude towards the Queen and the country, emphasizing that their website breached trust and protocol.

The decision now rests with the Privy Council, which is expected to convene next week to decide on the removal of the Sussexes’ titles.

Despite the motion, Harry and Meghan have yet to respond formally.

Close sources to the couple have conveyed their shock, hurt, and anger at the Parliament’s ruling, viewing it as a personal affront and retaliatory action against their authenticity.

The sources suggest that the Sussexes have no intentions of surrendering their website or titles, vowing to persist in advocating for their rights and freedom.

Expressing devastation at the decision, Harry and Meghan perceive it as a direct attack on their personal choices and a hindrance to their progress.

They remain steadfast in their commitment to their brand and platform, unwavering in their refusal to bow to parliamentary demands.

Prepared to pursue legal recourse if necessary, the couple finds solace in the unwavering support of millions worldwide who stand by them in solidarity and admiration.
