King Charles has turned to a trusted Greek Orthodox monk for spiritual advice following his recent cancer diagnosis, reports have revealed.
The monarch, known for his enduring friendship with Archimandrite Ephraim spanning over 25 years, sought solace in their bond, which deepened after the tragic passing of Princess Diana in 1997.
It is said that King Charles values the guidance provided by the revered elder.
Elder Ephraim, aged 67, was contacted by Charles shortly after the distressing news of his cancer diagnosis emerged earlier this month.
Speaking publicly for the first time, the abbot expressed the strength of their relationship and conveyed optimism that the king will triumph over the illness.
“We have a very good relationship,” the abbot shared warmly.
Residing at his own headquarters in Vatopedi on Mount Athos in the Greek peninsula, King Charles has made numerous visits to the serene location, including the ancient abbot’s monastery dating back to the 10th century.
