The Queen Consort and Countess of Wessex showed their unwavering support during an emotional vigil held at St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh.
King Charles III, along with his siblings Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward, came together for the solemn occasion on Monday evening.
The late monarch’s children participated in the 10-minute vigil alongside four members of the Royal Company of Archers, with their partners present inside the cathedral to offer their support.
Special arrangements were made for the partners to witness the vigil and pay their respects.
They took their seats beside the Queen’s coffin, as members of the public passed by behind them.
The King and Queen Consort arrived in a car, followed by Princess Anne and Timothy Lawrence, Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex, and Prince Andrew.
Upon His Majesty’s arrival, crowds gathered to cheer for him, with enthusiastic royal fans exclaiming, “Here he is!
Here he is!
It’s the King!”
while capturing the moment through pictures and videos.
Prior to entering the church, Charles acknowledged the well-wishers by waving to them.
The Queen Consort had made a wardrobe change, opting for a black jacket and knee-length dress paired with a diamond thistle brooch gifted to her by her late mother-in-law.
The King sported a kilt for the occasion.
During the 10-minute vigil, the royals stood on each side of the Queen’s coffin in silence, heads bowed in reverence.
Following the poignant vigil, the royal family departed from the cathedral.

Her Majesty’s coffin will remain at the cathedral for 24 hours before being transported to London on Tuesday, accompanied by Princess Anne.
In a display of unity and remembrance, King Charles III and his siblings, along with their respective partners, honored the Queen’s memory at St Giles Cathedral.
