In the wake of Princess Kate’s recent abdominal surgery, her three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—have yet to visit her in the hospital.
While this might seem unusual, there’s a solid reason behind the decision.
Prince William is striving to maintain a sense of normalcy for his family during this challenging time.
Princess Kate, who is recovering at the London Clinic, underwent scheduled surgery earlier this week.
Kensington Palace confirmed that the 42-year-old royal will require several months for a full recovery.
During this period, she has been focusing on healing while Prince William manages the day-to-day routines of their children.
Despite the circumstances, Prince William has been visiting Kate daily.
However, he has chosen not to bring the kids along just yet.
Reports suggest that both parents want their children’s lives to continue without disruption.
This means ensuring that George, Charlotte, and Louis keep up with school and other activities as much as possible.
Since the operation on January 16, the young royals have been attending school regularly.
Additionally, they’ve spent quality weekends at Bucklebury in Berkshire with their grandparents, Carole and Michael Middleton.
This arrangement allows the children to bond with their maternal relatives, providing a comforting presence during their mother’s recovery.
Kate’s parents and her sister, Pippa Middleton, live relatively close to Adelaide Cottage, making it easy for the kids to spend time with family.
Pippa and her husband, James Matthews, have three children of their own, which gives George, Charlotte, and Louis plenty of playmates to enjoy their time with.
Even though the children haven’t been able to see their mother in person, they are staying connected through daily FaceTime calls.
According to Royal Editor Emily Nash, this virtual communication helps keep Kate updated on their lives.
She has always cherished these interactions, especially when she’s away for work, and the kids are eager to see her as soon as she’s well enough.
William and Kate are known for being hands-on parents.
They make a concerted effort to drop the kids off at school, attend their sports events and concerts, and return home in time for bedtime.
While Kate is in the hospital, William is dedicated to keeping things as normal as possible for the children.
Interestingly, on the same day that news of Kate’s surgery broke, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles would also be undergoing a medical procedure for an enlarged prostate.
Earlier that Friday, the King was seen visiting the London Clinic, the very same facility where Kate received her treatment.
In a rare move, Queen Camilla accompanied King Charles to the hospital, as royals typically attend medical appointments alone.
Following the King’s admission, Buckingham Palace released a statement expressing his gratitude for the public’s well wishes and highlighting the importance of health awareness.
