The 73-year-old Princess Royal, accompanied by her husband, Sir Timothy Lawrence, radiated elegance in a ravishing red shift dress adorned with blooming pastel flowers, marking her presence at the President’s official residence on January 10.
The vibrant ensemble was a testament to Princess Anne’s unique fashion style, enhanced by a berry red lipstick, a draped cream scarf, and white gloves that sparked curiosity among fans.
While some couldn’t help but comment on the gloves being over the top for daytime, seasoned royal watchers quickly noted that this wasn’t a fashion whim.
Princess Anne, much like her mother Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Catherine, donned gloves to shield themselves from germs when meeting and greeting—a practical yet regal choice.
Completing her outfit with thrifty elegance, Princess Anne adorned her most loved accessories, a set of pearl earrings and a three-strand pearl necklace, believed to have once graced the late Queen’s collection.

Royal Rendezvous in Sri Lanka isn’t Princess Anne’s first dance with the South Asian island.

The royal connection between the UK and Sri Lanka has deep roots, with Prince Charles attending the 50th anniversary of Sri Lanka’s Independence Day in 1998.
In a surprising twist, the down-to-earth royal, known for her tireless work ethic, opted for a commercial flight to Sri Lanka over a private royal aircraft.
The airline, thrilled to have a royal passenger, shared photos of Anne and Sir Tim boarding the plane, captioning, “A service fit for a royal, we are delighted to welcome on board Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal on her journey from London to Colombo on a two-day official visit to mark the 75 years of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and the UK.”
