However, the couple’s trip to Vancouver has been overshadowed by the uproar and criticism stemming from their decision to depart from royal duties and pursue a more autonomous and financially sustainable lifestyle.
Dubbed “Megxit” by the media, Meghan and Harry have been accused of disrespecting the queen, betraying the monarchy, and relinquishing their obligations.

In addition to facing backlash from detractors, Meghan and Harry have also drawn criticism from their supporters for what is perceived as insensitivity towards Canadian issues.
Some fans expressed disappointment over the couple’s decision to attend the Invictus Games instead of showing solidarity with indigenous and environmental causes, urging them to lead a more modest and considerate life devoid of their titles and privileges.
Residing in a lavish $14 million estate on Vancouver Island with their son Archie, the couple has refrained from commenting on the controversy or the protests encircling their visit.
Nonetheless, a spokesperson for Meghan and Harry emphasized that the visit was personal and private, underscoring the couple’s respect and admiration for the Canadian populace and its concerns.
