Royal Connections at the School Gates: A Glimpse into Thomas’s Battersea

The school gates of Thomas’s Battersea in London have always been a hub of excitement, especially with royal families mingling among regular parents.

Recently, Princess Kate wasn’t the only notable figure seen there while dropping off her children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

The royal siblings attended this prestigious prep school before their family made the move to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.

As they bid farewell to Thomas’s, Ben Thomas, the former headmaster, took a moment to express his heartfelt wishes for the royal children.

He thanked them for embodying the school’s values and contributing significantly to its vibrant community during their time there.

It’s not just any school; it caters to children aged 4 to 13 and comes with a price tag of £7,826 per term.

While many parents were undoubtedly thrilled to catch a glimpse of Prince William and Princess Kate at pick-up times, other familiar faces also caught the attention of onlookers.

Among them was one of Lord and Lady Frederick Windsor’s daughters, who shared the school experience with George and Charlotte.

This connection adds another layer of intrigue to the royal narrative unfolding at the gates.

Sophie Winkleman, who became part of the royal family in 2009 after marrying Lord Frederick Windsor, has been a prominent figure in royal circles.

Their wedding at Hampton Court Palace saw every senior member of the royal family in attendance, marking a significant moment in both their lives.

Sophie reflected on her transition into royal life in a 2020 interview, stating how welcomed she felt by everyone.

After marrying, Sophie took on the title of Lady Frederick Windsor and frequently appeared alongside other royals on Buckingham Palace’s balcony.

Her presence during major royal events, including the late Queen’s funeral and the Platinum Jubilee, further solidified her status within the family.

The couple initially spent some years in the United States, allowing Sophie to pursue her career.

During their time in Los Angeles, they welcomed their first child, Maud Elizabeth Daphne Marina Windsor.

The family later returned to the UK, where they had a second daughter, Isabella Alexandra May Windsor.

Interestingly, both of Sophie and Lord Frederick’s daughters followed in the royal footsteps by attending Thomas’s Battersea, the same school that Prince George and Princess Charlotte called home.

This creates a fascinating tapestry of connections among the young royals and their peers, enriching their shared educational experience.
