This year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade will see a notable absence as Princess Kate, the Colonel of the Irish Guards, recovers from abdominal surgery.
Traditionally, she would be the one distributing shamrocks to officers and non-commissioned officers at this annual event, a role she has embraced with pride.
However, due to her ongoing recovery, the British Army is stepping in to find a substitute.
The Ministry of Defence announced that Lady Jika, the wife of Major-General Sir Christopher Jika, will take over Kate’s responsibilities for the day.
This change comes as Kate continues her recuperation after undergoing major abdominal surgery back in January.
