Queen Camilla embarked on a visit to a bustling building in West London that houses art studios, immersing herself in the vibrant world of local artists and traditional craftsmen.
The Shepherds Bush Pop-Up Centre of Kindred Studios played host to the royal, who expressed her admiration for the diverse range of artworks on display.
Among the captivating pieces showcased at the pop-up store was a striking portrait of Princess Charlotte, the Queen’s step-granddaughter, skillfully crafted by artist Mercedes Carbonell.
During her tour of the art studios, which were previously repurposed from accommodation for a homeless organization, Queen Camilla was particularly drawn to the portrait of Princess Charlotte.
The photographer behind the artwork revealed that the Queen was highly impressed, noting a resemblance between Charlotte and Queen Elizabeth in the picture.
Camilla was heard describing the portrait as lovely, showcasing her appreciation for the artistic tribute to her young family member.
As she continued her exploration of the art-filled space, Queen Camilla encountered a display by Cordelia Plunkett, the mother of Camilla’s equestrian, Major Ollie Plunkett.
Plunkett’s imaginative creations included a whimsical rendition of the iconic Beatles’ Abbey Road album cover, featuring bird-headed figurines in place of the Fab Four, crafted using taxidermy.
The Queen marveled at the unique artwork, playfully identifying the bird-headed characters representing Ringo and George.
Another intriguing exhibit that caught Queen Camilla’s eye was a sculpture of a bird nestled under a tiny duvet amidst scattered debris, reminiscent of artist Tracey Emin’s renowned piece “My Bed.”

Among the talented artisans showcased at the event was conservator Perrin Hart, whose studio brimmed with intricate wooden projects.
Hart shared with Queen Camilla his painstaking restoration of a late 19th-century wooden throne from Burma, now on display at the British Museum.
Impressed by the craftsmanship and dedication evident in Hart’s work, the Queen acknowledged the labor of love invested in preserving historical artifacts.
