After a brief hiatus to support his wife, Prince William is gearing up to return to his royal responsibilities this week.
The Prince of Wales took a three-week break following Princess Kate’s abdominal surgery, during which he focused on family while she recuperated at their Windsor residence.
William stepped back from his official duties on January 16 to be by Kate’s side and care for their three children: Prince George, aged 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and little Prince Louis, who is just 5.
This time away from royal engagements was important for him, as he prioritized ensuring that Kate felt comfortable and well taken care of at home.
However, royal insiders have confirmed that the prince is ready to get back to work.
This week marks the beginning of his return, with an investiture ceremony scheduled at Windsor Castle on Wednesday.
Following that, he will attend an evening gala aimed at raising funds for the London Air Ambulance, a cause close to his heart given his past experience as an air ambulance pilot.
Before his break, William made headlines during a meeting in Leeds on January 11, where he surprised rugby legends Rob Burrow and Kevin Sinfield by presenting them with their CBEs.
That engagement was his last official appearance prior to stepping back to care for his family.
In light of Kate’s surgery, the Prince had to put a hold on two overseas trips that were initially planned.
The couple was set to visit British troops stationed abroad in March, marking what would have been their first official trip to that nation together.
Kate spent a total of 13 nights in the hospital following her surgery, and while details regarding her condition remain private, her advisors have assured the public that it was not a malignant issue.
A representative from Kensington Palace recently shared that Kate has returned home to continue her recovery, and she is making good progress.
The royal family has expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards the staff at the London Clinic, especially the dedicated nursing team that provided exceptional care during Kate’s hospital stay.
