In a heartwarming revelation from Windsor, , the Prince of Wales, disclosed that his family, comprising his wife Princess Catherine and their three children – Prince George, , and , are proud owners of guinea pigs.

The charming disclosure occurred during a visit to Woodgate Valley Urban Farm in Birmingham, where he participated in grooming a guinea pig alongside a child benefitting from the farm’s program.

Expressing his fondness for the furry creatures, Prince William remarked, “These guys are pretty cool,” drawing a connection to their pets at home.

He offered a personal insight into his daily routine, chuckling as he confessed, “I spend my life cleaning out the guinea pig cage because the children forget to do it.”

Delving further into their pets’ quirks, he added, “The ones we’ve got at home, they’re off.

You have to keep them constantly stroked and looked after.”

The visit to the farm not only showcased their love for animals but also shed light on the impactful work carried out at Woodgate Valley Urban Farm.

Spanning six acres, this community sanctuary offers various therapeutic programs that have shown significant enhancements in the mental health and well-being of participating children.

Supported by the National Lottery, the farm plays a vital role in assisting children facing educational barriers and young individuals dealing with mental health issues.

Continuing his day on a touching note, Prince William made a visit to St Michael’s Church of England High School in Rowley, Regis, following an invitation from 12-year-old student Freddie Hadley.

Freddie had reached out to the prince via social media last October, inviting him to the school.

During his visit, Prince William actively engaged with students involved in the school’s Matrix project, which focuses on male mental health and launched the hashtag Am I Manly Enough campaign to combat associated stigmas.

Reflecting on his journey in mental health advocacy, Prince William shared, “It started really when I was doing lots of charitable work.”

He elaborated on how his initial interests in homelessness, depression, and addiction evolved into a broader mental health initiative, emphasizing his current focus on male mental health due to alarming suicide rates among young men.

His dedication to making a difference in this area was palpable throughout the interaction.

The day’s events not only highlighted the royal family’s endearing attachment to guinea pigs but also underscored Prince William’s unwavering commitment to mental health matters, particularly concerning young men.

His sincerity, openness, and the glimpse into his family life further endeared him to the public, garnering increased admiration and respect.

As the royal family continues to expand with children and pets, their emphasis on care and advocacy remains central to their family ethos, radiating warmth and inspiration within and beyond the confines of their Windsor residence.
