During a recent visit to St. Michael’s Church of England High School in Rowley Regis, Prince William shared a heartwarming moment with students that left them giggling.
The future king revealed his daughter, Princess Charlotte‘s favorite joke, showcasing his playful side while discussing important mental health initiatives.
As part of his engagement with the school, William spoke about the commendable efforts the institution has made in providing mental health care for young people.
It was during this enlightening conversation that he lightened the mood by sharing a dad joke that has become a hit at home.
“I’ve been asked to come up with a dad joke,” he told the group of eager students.
He mentioned that comedian Jack Whitehall inspired him, particularly due to the fatherly tone that resonates in many of Whitehall’s jokes.
“Charlotte keeps telling me that her favorite joke right now is this one,” he added, setting the stage for a bit of fun.
With a playful demeanor, Prince William initiated the joke, saying, “Knock, knock!” The students eagerly responded, “Who’s there?” This back-and-forth banter created an engaging atmosphere, as William continued with, “Interrupting cow.”
Before the students could ask, “Who interrupts the cow?” the prince abruptly shouted, “Moo!” The room erupted with laughter, and William, with a chuckle, acknowledged the groans that followed, saying, “Yep, that’s what I get a lot at home at the moment.” His ability to connect with the kids through humor was evident and added a personal touch to the visit.
This delightful exchange came after Prince William received a heartfelt letter from a student named Freddie Hadley, inviting him to learn more about the school’s mental health programs.
The visit was not only a chance to share laughter but also to recognize the vital work being done to support youth mental health.
On a personal note, the timing of the visit was significant, as Princess Charlotte is set to celebrate her ninth birthday on May 2.
Just nine days earlier, her younger brother, Prince Louis, turned six, marking a festive period for the royal family.
In keeping with royal traditions, William and his wife, Princess Kate, shared a new photo of Louis to commemorate his birthday, captioning it with warm wishes.
“Happy sixth birthday, Prince Louis,” they wrote, expressing their gratitude for the well-wishes received.
