Piers Morgan Slams Prince Harry’s Remembrance Day Tribute as a PR Stunt

On Sunday, members of the royal family gathered to honor Britain’s fallen soldiers at the Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph.

The Queen’s attendance was uncertain due to recent health concerns, but Buckingham Palace confirmed her presence at this year’s wreath-laying service in an official statement yesterday.

Notably absent were Harry and Meghan, who had stepped back from their royal duties earlier in the year.

The Duke of Sussex, a former army member with two Afghanistan tours under his belt, observed Remembrance Sunday in California.

Alongside Meghan, he visited the Los Angeles National Cemetery, where they paid respects to Commonwealth soldiers’ graves and laid a wreath at an obelisk.

Criticism arose when the couple shared images of their cemetery visit on social media, with Piers Morgan lambasting them on ITV’s Good Morning Britain.

Morgan accused them of orchestrating a distasteful PR stunt by controlling the narrative and releasing carefully curated photos of their tribute.

While acknowledging Prince Harry’s right to honor the armed forces, Morgan condemned what he perceived as a manipulative move to garner attention and defy the palace’s authority.

The controversy stemmed from reports that Harry’s request to have a wreath laid in his name at the London service was denied by Buckingham Palace last year.

During the broadcast, Morgan’s co-host Susanna Reid defended Prince Harry’s actions, citing his deep connection to the military after a decade of service.

She argued that his gesture, albeit publicized, was a genuine display of respect.

However, Morgan remained critical, questioning the necessity of involving a photographer during a solemn moment at an American cemetery.

In a separate development, the Court of Appeal revisited the case involving the publisher of the Mail on Sunday and the Duchess of Sussex.

New evidence emerged, revealing that Meghan and Harry’s former communications secretary had provided information to the authors of the biography “Finding Freedom.”

This revelation led to the Duchess issuing an apology for misleading the High Court.

Royal expert Camilla Tominey weighed in on the matter, suggesting that the recent court proceedings contradicted Harry and Meghan’s portrayal of being unsupported by the monarchy.

Tominey highlighted the extent of control the couple wielded and the efforts made by those around them to navigate challenging situations.

The unfolding events shed light on the complexities within the royal family and the dynamics surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan’s decisions.

As the public continues to scrutinize their actions and statements, the narrative surrounding the couple remains a subject of ongoing debate and speculation.
