Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is facing a downturn in popularity as revealed by recent Google Trends data.
The monthly search data for Meghan has shown a significant decrease of 18.6 percent, with an average of 1,375 searches per month.
This decline comes after a spike in March 2021, following her much-talked-about interview with Oprah Winfrey, where her monthly searches jumped to 1,600 compared to just 390 in February.
However, by May 2021, the numbers had dropped back down to a mere 480 searches per month.
In contrast, Meghan’s sister-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge, saw a 50 percent increase in searches, garnering almost double the number of searches in May 2021 with 720 searches.
The term “Royals” saw a remarkable 133 percent surge in Google Trends over the past year.
TopTenCasinos.com conducted research to determine which members of the royal family were most searched for in the past year, spanning from June 2020 to May 2021, a period marked by significant events such as Megxit and the passing of Prince Philip.
The study highlighted Princess Beatrice as the royal family member with the highest increase in Google searches, soaring by 508.1 percent.
In July 2020 alone, Princess Beatrice amassed a staggering 1,830,000 searches, a 335 percent surge from her average monthly search volume of 420,500.
Her marriage to Edoardo Mappelli Mozzi in July explained the unprecedented spike in searches during that month.
Following closely behind, Princess Charlotte experienced a substantial 306.6 percent surge in searches, with the peak occurring in May 2021 when she celebrated her sixth birthday, amassing 368,000 searches.
Princess Anne also saw a notable 234.8 percent increase in searches, attributed to her reputation as one of the hardest-working royals.
The Duchess of Cornwall ranked fourth in search popularity, with a 100 percent increase in searches over the past year, surpassing her husband Prince Charles, who experienced an 82.3 percent increase.
These search trends indicate a decline in popularity for Meghan Markle, as other royal family members garnered higher search volumes.
Interestingly, the royal family witnessed significant declines in searches for certain members, including Prince Andrew, who experienced a dramatic 98.8 percent decrease in monthly search volume from June 2020 to May 2021.
Likewise, Prince William saw an 89 percent decrease in searches, while Queen Elizabeth II faced a noticeable 55.3 percent decline in Google searches this year, averaging 455,167 searches per month.

Despite expert opinions, Meghan has previously claimed that she had limited knowledge about the royal family before her relationship with Prince Harry.
During their revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan expressed, “I didn’t grow up knowing much about the royal family.
It wasn’t something that was part of conversation at home.
It wasn’t something we followed.”
Prior to meeting Prince Harry, Meghan pursued a career in acting, starting as a briefcase model on Deal or No Deal and landing supporting roles in various films.
Her breakthrough came with her role as Rachel Zane in the hit series Suits, where she gained widespread recognition.
Meghan’s journey from actress to royalty unfolded when she met Prince Harry on a blind date in the summer of 2016, leading to a public announcement of their relationship in November and their engagement a year later.
While Meghan’s search numbers may be dwindling, her transformation from a Hollywood star to a prominent figure in the royal family has been a subject of fascination and scrutiny, reflecting the complexities of navigating fame, relationships, and public perception in the spotlight.
