Meghan Markle’s Podcast Series Fails to Capture Audience Interest

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, recently launched her much-anticipated podcast series, but it seems that listeners are not eager to tune in, according to a recent poll.

The inaugural episode of the Archetypes podcast, titled “The Misconceptions of Ambition with Serena Williams,” was released on Tuesday, August 23.

In this episode, Meghan engaged in a candid conversation with her close friend, tennis star Serena Williams, discussing topics such as motherhood, pregnancy, and societal perceptions of ambition in women.

During the hour-long episode, Meghan also had a conversation with Dr. Laura Kay, where she opened up about her own struggles with ambition.

Additionally, she shared personal anecdotes about her experiences as a new mother, recounting a harrowing incident where her son narrowly escaped a fire during a royal tour of South Africa in 2019.

The Archetypes podcast series was initially touted as an exploration of the stereotypes that hinder women’s progress.

In a promotional video for the podcast, Meghan pledged to present her authentic self and engage in intimate dialogues with friends, historians, and experts.

The series, comprised of 12 episodes, will feature Meghan conversing with prominent figures and specialists on the subject of female stereotypes.

However, a recent poll conducted from August 24 to August 26 revealed that a staggering 98% of respondents, totaling 15,207 individuals, expressed disinterest in listening to Meghan’s podcast.

Only a mere 2%, or 230 people, indicated their intention to tune in, while 56 respondents remained undecided.

The poll results sparked a flurry of reactions from readers, with many expressing their lack of enthusiasm for Meghan’s latest venture.

Commenters voiced their reluctance to engage with the podcast, with one individual humorously remarking, “Life is too short to listen.”

Another reader stated, “I have better things to do,” while others emphatically declared their refusal to partake in the podcast experience.

Some even went as far as to announce their decision to cancel their Spotify subscriptions in response to Meghan’s podcast launch.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, Netflix executives have reportedly convened emergency meetings with and in light of the public backlash surrounding the couple.

The discussions were prompted by concerns over Netflix’s declining subscriber numbers following the cancellation of certain projects.

According to an insider, Harry and Meghan initiated an all-hands meeting to address these pressing issues and engage with key stakeholders, including Netflix’s co-CEO Ted Sarandos.

This development comes on the heels of criticism from royal commentator Daniela Elza, who characterized the couple’s performance in the US as lackluster and suggested that their appeal had diminished over time.

Elza emphasized the importance of tangible achievements over mere titles or connections, asserting that Harry and Meghan must demonstrate their value to prospective partners rather than rely on past accolades.
