Meghan Markle found herself at the receiving end of scathing remarks from Meghan Kelly after being referred to as “my husband” by the Duchess during a recent podcast.
Kelly, visibly exasperated, belittled Markle as a commoner on her SiriusXM show, expressing irritation at Markle’s persistent reminders of her royal status since marrying into the British monarchy.
Accusing the couple of incessantly criticizing the royals who propelled them to fame and fortune, Kelly played excerpts from their headline-making interview with Oprah Winfrey, where they discussed their time as working members of the royal family.
Notably, Kelly highlighted Markle’s low approval rating of less than 22% in the UK and labeled her a liar for allegedly not researching the royal family before tying the knot with Prince Harry in 2018.
During a recent episode of Markle’s own podcast, Archetypes, she casually referred to Prince Harry as “my husband” while discussing their daily routine with their children.
Kelly sarcastically remarked, “We get it, you bagged the gorilla,” alluding to Markle’s marriage to the British royal.
She continued, “Congratulations, you got the big bear,” implying Markle’s eagerness to flaunt her royal connection.
Meanwhile, Markle disclosed her efforts to obtain UK citizenship in a Spotify podcast episode, describing the challenging nature of the citizenship tests and suggesting that Prince Harry struggled with the questions himself.
Reacting to Markle’s revelation, radio host Mike Graham expressed outrage, proposing that Prince Harry should forfeit his citizenship if unable to pass the test.
Graham, addressing the issue on his talk show, criticized Harry’s perceived lack of intelligence and humorously imitated the prince’s hypothetical struggle with the test questions.
Despite the backlash, royal expert Robert Jobson defended Markle, emphasizing Prince Harry’s autonomy and downplaying accusations against the Duchess.
