Julia Roberts Upset Over Meghan Markle’s Unauthorized Script for Netflix Movie

Julia Roberts, set to star in the upcoming Netflix movie “Leave the World Behind” alongside Mahershala Ali and Ethan Hawke, was reportedly furious upon receiving Meghan Markle’s unauthorized script.

Sources close to the production revealed that Roberts was livid at Markle’s audacity to rewrite the script without permission from the original author, director, or producers.

Describing the situation as a joke, Roberts expressed disbelief at Markle’s alterations to the characters, plot, and tone of the story.

Confronting Markle over the phone, Roberts made it clear that Markle was unwelcome on the movie set and advised her to focus on her own projects, such as documentaries and podcasts.

Roberts criticized Markle’s lack of talent and experience as a writer, accusing her of ruining the adaptation of Ruman Alam’s best-selling novel with an amateurish and self-indulgent script.

Markle, who recently inked a lucrative deal with Netflix alongside Prince Harry, aimed to enhance her Hollywood career and promote her social justice agenda through involvement in the movie as a writer and co-producer.

However, her script faced severe criticism and rejection from the creative team for alleged plagiarism, distortion, and agenda-pushing.

Markle’s script notably altered the race and background of the main characters from the original book, transforming Amanda and Clay from white to black and biracial, respectively.

Additionally, she introduced a new character, a teenage daughter inspired by herself, who emerges as the story’s hero.

Markle shifted the book’s psychological thriller narrative to a political and environmental drama, incorporating themes of climate change, racism, and royal family references.

Critics highlighted Markle’s script as riddled with plagiarism, errors, and inconsistencies, lacking proper research or fact-checking.

Accused of prioritizing self-promotion over respecting the original creators and actors, Markle’s script failed to garner approval from Roberts, Ali, and Hawke, who refused to collaborate with her.

Director Sam Esmail, also the writer and producer of the movie, sided with the cast members, dismissing Markle’s script as unacceptable and asserting his sole authority over the project.

Despite acknowledging Markle’s enthusiasm, Esmail emphasized the importance of adhering to his creative vision and professional standards.

With industry insiders labeling Markle as a fraud, plagiarist, and disruptor, her reputation has suffered a significant blow.

Alienating colleagues and audiences alike, Markle’s actions have led to widespread disillusionment and skepticism towards her credibility.

Ultimately, Markle’s misguided script has jeopardized her standing in the entertainment realm, leaving her isolated and facing the consequences of her own choices.
