Inside Princess Kate’s Luxurious £31 Million Retreat at Amher Hall

Princess Kate is currently recuperating at Amher Hall, a stunning 19th-century estate nestled within the Sandringham estate.

After undergoing surgery last month, the Princess of Wales is taking the time to heal in this serene setting.

The estate has a rich history, having been home to various royal owners over the years, and it now serves as a peaceful sanctuary for Kate and her family.

Following her recovery period at Amher Hall, Princess Kate plans to take her children—Prince George, , and —on a half-term getaway to Norfolk.

This trip will also see them spending quality time at their Sandringham estate.

A representative from Kensington Palace indicated on January 17 that the 42-year-old princess is unlikely to return to her royal duties until after Easter, depending on her medical advice.

During her recovery, stepped away from his royal responsibilities to care for Kate and their three young children, who attend Lambrook School, conveniently located just a short drive from Windsor.

This family-first approach highlights the couple’s commitment to supporting each other during challenging times.

Amher Hall itself is a remarkable country mansion, constructed in 1802.

It became part of the Sandringham estate after Queen Victoria purchased the land.

Over the years, various notable figures, including entrepreneurs and government officials, have leased the property.

As a wedding gift from the late II, it holds sentimental value for the couple, serving as their country retreat.

The estate has undergone several renovations, with the most recent one in 2021 costing approximately £1.5 million.

The two-story mansion boasts ten bedrooms and a charming attic with dormer windows.

Its lengthy south facade features thirteen bays, recently restored with brick, and showcases an elegant semicircular porch supported by Tuscan columns.

Although Amher Hall was listed as a Grade U-listed building in 1984, it was later removed from the list.

The property is equipped with outdoor amenities like a tennis court and a swimming pool, catering to Kate and William’s love for sports and outdoor activities.

Inside, the décor reflects a harmonious blend of modern design and cherished antiques.

The dining room stands out with its vibrant jewel green walls, complemented by cream-colored accents.

Renowned designer Ben Pentreath, known for his work on other royal properties, was responsible for the interior design, ensuring a stylish yet cozy atmosphere.

While the couple values their privacy, glimpses into their home life occasionally emerge.

Photos of Princess Charlotte and Prince George reveal tastefully designed rooms adorned with neutral tones, lively pillows, and subtle patterns that create a warm and inviting environment.

As the Princess of Wales focuses on her recovery, Amher Hall provides a tranquil backdrop for her family to unwind and recharge.
