During a poignant royal visit in London, Prince William received a touching message from a Holocaust survivor who expressed her deep affection for his wife, the Princess of Wales.
This heartfelt exchange occurred at the Western Marble Arch Synagogue, where 94-year-old Renee Salt shared her sentiments during a discussion focused on the troubling rise of anti-Semitism in the UK.
Renee Salt, who bravely survived the horrors of a Nazi concentration camp, took the opportunity to tell Prince William just how much she misses Princess Kate, who is currently recovering from elective abdominal surgery.
“I really do miss her,” she said, clearly moved.
Her request was simple yet sincere: she asked Prince William to extend her warmest wishes to the Princess.
This visit marked Prince William’s first public engagement since he chose not to attend the memorial service for the late King Constantine II of Greece earlier in the week.
Despite the dreary weather, the Duke of Cambridge made his way to London, ready to engage in meaningful conversations about the alarming growth of anti-Semitism in society.
As the discussions unfolded, Renee recounted her harrowing experiences during the Holocaust, illustrating her resilience and strength.
When William inquired about how she managed to cope with such trauma, her response was filled with emotion.
“I’m so sorry it’s got to this stage,” she admitted, reflecting the weight of her past.
In response, Prince William offered words of hope, assuring her, “It will get better.”
The visit had initially been slated for last month, with plans for the Princess of Wales to join her husband.
However, due to her recovery, she was unable to attend.
Nonetheless, her presence loomed large in the hearts of those gathered, especially Renee, who spoke fondly of Kate’s commitment to important causes.
During his engagement, Prince William also interacted with young participants involved in the Holocaust Educational Trust’s flagship Lessons from Auschwitz project.
This initiative plays a crucial role in educating future generations about the atrocities of the Holocaust and the importance of tolerance.
In a powerful speech delivered to the students, Prince William emphasized the need to combat anti-Semitism.
“Anti-Semitism has no place in society,” he stated firmly, reiterating his stance against prejudice.
