Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been discreetly recording their recent visit to New York City, hinting at a potential Netflix documentary chronicling their lives, as per sources from Page Six.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were accompanied by their personal videographer during their whirlwind tour this week, capturing moments as they explored the city.
Their videographer was seen leading the way as they ventured out for a tour of the 9/11 Memorial on Thursday morning.
Additionally, the couple brought along their own photographer, Matt Sayles, to capture their journey.
During their visit to the iconic Harlem soul food restaurant Melba on Friday, Harry was spotted wearing a microphone while embracing restaurant owner Melba Wilson.
Despite the warm weather in the bustling city, Meghan opted for heavy winter coats and jackets throughout their engagements, possibly concealing any recording devices.
Sources close to the Sussexes revealed that footage is also being gathered for their Archul Foundation archives.
Before finalizing a lucrative deal with Netflix in September 2020, Harry and Meghan reportedly discussed creating a candid documentary about their lives with network executives.
Following their departure from the royal family earlier this year, the couple, along with their production company Archul Productions, sealed the agreement.
While projects like a documentary on Harry’s initiative, The Invictus Games, have been announced, Markle is collaborating with producer David Furnish on an animated series titled “Pearl.”
In addition to their Netflix deal, the couple secured a multi-million dollar contract with Spotify for their Archul Audio podcast.
Although a full series was anticipated to launch in 2021, only a holiday special featuring their son Archie and Elton John has been released so far.
Harry’s involvement in mental health discussions alongside Oprah Winfrey for Apple TV Plus has also been well-received.
Notably, Harry is set to release his memoir and collaborate with Meghan on a book centered around leadership.
The Duke and Duchess made a public appearance at the Global Citizen live concert in Central Park, advocating for global COVID-19 vaccine equity.
As Harry gears up to film a docuseries on The Invictus Games, sources suggest that he will be accompanied by a film crew to showcase the extensive preparations involved.
Despite residing in Santa Barbara with Meghan and their children, Harry is expected to return to the UK to document the Games and fulfill his Netflix obligations.
With the couple’s substantial Netflix deal, the upcoming series “Heart of Invictus” will feature Harry both behind and in front of the camera.
Plans for Harry’s UK visit include filming at an Army base in November, shedding light on the meticulous planning behind the Games.
As details about his return to England emerge, it remains uncertain whether he will visit the Queen before heading back to California.
