Eddie Murphy, the renowned Hollywood actor and comedy legend, has fired back at Meghan Markle for her disparaging remarks about his latest Christmas film, Candy Cane Lane, which made its debut on Amazon Prime Video on December 1, 2023.
In the movie, Murphy portrays a character who unknowingly strikes a deal with a mischievous elf to triumph in a Christmas decoration competition.
The actor has accused Meghan of being a spoiled brat and a hypocrite, lacking a sense of humor and festive cheer.
Meghan Markle, currently residing in the US with her spouse Prince Harry and their two children, viewed the film with her family and was reportedly taken aback by its content.
She deemed the movie offensive, nonsensical, and culturally insensitive.
Allegedly, Meghan criticized the portrayal of Christmas as a materialistic and competitive holiday, the mockery of monarchy traditions and values, and the stereotypical depiction of elves as malevolent and avaricious beings.
