Academy Museum Gala: A Star-Studded Affair Missing Meghan Markle

The Academy Museum Gala, held on October 19, 2024, is more than just a fancy gathering; it’s an essential fundraiser for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.

This annual event plays a crucial role in supporting the museum’s exhibits, educational programs, and public outreach.

Think of it as the Oscars’ less glamorous sibling—invited to family gatherings but often overlooked in the spotlight.

This year, however, the absence of from the guest list raised eyebrows.

Her striking gown, featuring a daring neckline and high slit, seemed more fitting for a Victorian tea party than such a prestigious occasion.

The question on everyone’s lips: Why wasn’t she invited?

The gala’s host committee, led by the ever-influential Anna Wintour, is a mix of around 100 individuals and companies.

Surprisingly, it appears that Meghan’s absence isn’t solely due to Wintour’s notorious gatekeeping.

Instead, one has to wonder if her invitation simply got lost in the shuffle among the many names involved.

Among those on the committee are notable figures like Gabrielle Union, Ted Sarandos from Netflix, and Paramount’s Brian Robbins.

Interestingly, there have been whispers that Meghan might not even be represented by her former agency, WME, anymore.

Robbins, who once invited Meghan to a premiere in Jamaica, seems like he could have easily extended an invite for this local gala.

Yet, here we are, with no sign of the Duchess.

Adding to the intrigue, Apple Original Films produced “Harry, The Me You Can’t See,” while Louis Vuitton designed Meghan’s gown for the Ripple of Hope Awards.

If there was an opportunity for a PR win, surely these connections would have seized it.

And let’s not overlook J.P. Morgan Chase, The Disney Company, or even Orlando Bloom, who is rumored to be a friend.

But where are the photos to prove these friendships?

With no snaps, it’s hard to substantiate those claims.

Meghan’s absence at such a high-profile event raises significant questions.

Hollywood has historically kept the Sussexes at arm’s length, but does this extend to their so-called allies?

It certainly seems that way.

Watching Meghan get publicly snubbed by a gathering of industry elites feels like a slow-motion train wreck, revealing the growing discontent within Hollywood regarding the couple.

Let’s not even delve into her controversial 40 by 40 initiative.

Advising women returning to work to seek mentors in unrelated fields seems misguided at best.

Meghan could have made a meaningful impact by encouraging women to dedicate just 40 minutes to community service.

Instead, her ideas come across as more theoretical than practical, perhaps because actionable generosity isn’t exactly her forte.

Inviting Meghan Markle to any event feels like tossing a grenade into a party—there’s bound to be some fallout.

With a reputation as a bully and someone who can come off as opportunistic, it’s understandable that attendees might choose to keep their distance.

An A-list crowd likely wants to avoid being associated with potential drama or finding themselves in the middle of an awkward encounter.

Moreover, there’s the financial aspect.
