In 2022, it was announced that only the birthdays of Queen Elizabeth and King Charles would be marked by the bells.
Following the passing of Queen Elizabeth in September 2022, the list further narrowed down to just King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Princess Kate.
The Abbey also rings its bells for other significant royal events, such as the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s death and King Charles’ accession to the throne.
