Duke of York Hosts Viewing Party for Upcoming Royal Drama

Mark your calendars!

The highly anticipated drama series, A Very Royal Scandal, is set to hit screens in the UK on September 19.

Excitement is in the air, particularly for , who is reportedly organizing a viewing party to celebrate its premiere.

This revelation comes as a surprise to many, as the Duke of York seems eager to witness how his character is portrayed in this new Amazon Medium production.

Contrary to initial assumptions, both Andrew and his daughter, , are not wringing their hands in anxiety over the upcoming show.

Sources close to the family reveal that Andrew is genuinely enthusiastic about the series, which aims to dramatize his infamous interview with the BBC regarding the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

This enthusiasm stands in stark contrast to the apprehension Beatrice felt when the Netflix drama Scoop was released.

In fact, following the debut of Scoop, Beatrice had her reservations.

She worried that the portrayal might overshadow her efforts to rehabilitate her family’s image.

However, after seeing how she was depicted in that series, her concerns have eased significantly.

Now, she appears more relaxed about the upcoming drama, feeling confident that it will treat her with respect.

The new series focuses on the dramatic events surrounding Prince Andrew’s controversial interview with Emily Maitlis on Newsnight.

During that interview, he faced intense scrutiny over his ties to Jeffrey Epstein and accusations made by Virginia Roberts Giuffre.

Although Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing, the fallout from that interview has been monumental.

The storyline of A Very Royal Scandal is rooted in the explosive revelations from the Newsnight program aired in November 2019.

The episode delved into the allegations made by Giuffre, who claims that Andrew s–ually assaulted her when she was a minor.

Despite the serious nature of the accusations, Andrew has maintained his innocence throughout and even reached a civil settlement with Giuffre, which he insists does not imply any admission of guilt.

As for the cast, viewers can expect to see actress Sophia Oxenham portraying Princess Beatrice.

Other notable actors include Michael Sheen, who takes on the role of Prince Andrew, and Ruth Wilson, who plays journalist Emily Maitlis.

The ensemble cast also features Joanna Scanlan as Amanda Thirsk and Giulio Cavazzini as Beatrice’s husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

With the drama’s release just around the corner, it’s clear that the royal family is preparing for an eventful evening.
