Prince George Takes to the Skies: A Royal Flying Lesson

In a delightful display of royal family traditions, Prince George has embarked on his first flying lesson, igniting a passion for aviation that has been evident since his early childhood.

The young prince took to the skies with an instructor while his proud parents, and Princess Catherine, watched from the ground.

This memorable moment unfolded at White Waltham Airfield, located a mere 20-minute drive from their Windsor residence.

According to reports from The Sun, George’s flying lesson occurred on the last day of the school summer holidays.

The excitement was palpable as he enjoyed an hour in the cockpit, marking a significant milestone in his young life.

After the lesson, the family gathered at the West London Aero Club’s clubhouse, where they relaxed and shared in the joy of the day.

The airfield is known for being welcoming to aspiring pilots of all ages, though it’s noted that one must be at least 16 years old to fly solo.

Given George’s lineage, it seems only fitting that he would follow in the footsteps of his family, who have a rich history with aviation.

His great-grandfather, , famously began his own flying training at White Waltham back in 1952, earning his Royal Air Force wings the following year.

Prince William is no stranger to the skies either.

He began his journey as a search and rescue pilot in 2009, with his initial training taking place at RAF Valley in Anglesey.

His operational deployments even took him as far as the Falkland Islands.

Later, he transitioned to become an air ambulance pilot, serving with the East Anglian Air Ambulance from March 2015 until July 2017.

Just recently, during a visit to the Wales Air Ambulance Headquarters in Llanethly, South Wales, William expressed his longing to return to flying helicopters.

“I can’t stop talking about helicopters and medical kits and all sorts,” he admitted, revealing how much he missed the thrill of flying.

His enthusiasm was infectious as he hinted at the possibility of returning for a weekend stint with the air ambulance team.
