Royal Playmate of Princess Charlotte Revealed: Meet Maud Elizabeth Daphne Marina Windsor

There is a lesser-known member of the royal family who shares a special connection with , and her name is Maud Elizabeth Daphne Marina Windsor.

Born on 15 August 2013 in California, Maud is the granddaughter of Prince Michael of Kent, who is a cousin of the Queen.

She attended St. Thomas’s Battersea in London alongside Prince George and , forming a close bond with the young royals.

Maud’s parents are Lord Frederick Windsor and actress Sophie Winkelmann.

Her younger sister, Isabella Alexandra May Windsor, also mingles with Prince George and Princess Charlotte at St. Thomas’s Battersea.

Maud’s birth coincided closely with that of Prince George, and she was born in the United States while Sophie was working there.

Sophie, also known as Lady Frederick Windsor, has an impressive acting background, having appeared in shows like Peep Show and Two and a Half Men.

With a lineage tracing back to Prince George, Duke of Kent, and King George V, Maud holds the 54th position in the line of succession to the throne.

Her name pays homage to her royal ancestors, with “Maud” honoring Queen Maud of Norway, “Elizabeth” as a tribute to the Queen, “Daphne” from her mother’s side, and “Marina” in honor of her father’s grandmother, Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark.

In an interview with Hello magazine, Sophie shared insights into the relationship between Maud and her royal cousins, highlighting a special tea invitation at Kensington Palace just before Princess Charlotte’s birth.

Maud and Prince George hit it off instantly, with George displaying remarkable intelligence and eloquence at a young age, impressing everyone around him.

The public caught a glimpse of Maud when she stood as a bridesmaid alongside Princess Charlotte at ‘s wedding to Jack Brooksbank in 2018.

As the elder Cambridge children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, gear up to start a new school in Windsor this September, rumors swirl about the family’s potential move to the Windsor estate.
