In a delightful turn of events, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are anticipated to make a charming appearance at this year’s Trooping the Colour, scheduled for Saturday, June 15.
While excitement builds for the annual celebration, it appears that their mother, Princess Kate, may not join them this time around.
Marlene Koenig, a prominent royal commentator and author of Royal Musings, shared insights with the Daily Express US regarding the upcoming festivities.
She speculated that King Charles and Queen Camilla would likely arrive in a carriage, presenting a perfect opportunity for the young royals to partake in the traditional celebrations alongside their grandparents.
“I have this lovely little feeling that perhaps the King and Queen and the three grandchildren will be in the carriage,” Koenig remarked.
Traditionally, the Trooping the Colour ceremony features members of the royal family in attendance, creating a vibrant spectacle.
However, with Princess Kate’s absence looming, it seems the children will enjoy a special moment with King Charles and Queen Camilla.
Koenig described the situation as “adorable and really thoughtful,” noting that public sentiment would be quite disappointed if the young royals were not present.
Adding to the intrigue of the day, King Charles has expressed a desire to ride a horse during the Trooping the Colour parade, which is also known as the King’s Birthday Parade.
However, given the soaring summer temperatures, this may not be the wisest choice.
Koenig pointed out that, considering the King’s recent health struggles, the royal doctors are likely to advise against this plan.
“Basically, everything is on a day-to-day basis,” Koenig explained, highlighting the careful decision-making involved in royal appearances, especially as King Charles continues to recover from cancer.
The expectation is that he will refrain from riding a horse this year, prioritizing his health over tradition.
