Duchess Sophie Takes a Break: Enjoys Carriage Ride in Windsor

This past Saturday, the Duchess of Edinburgh, Sophie, was spotted relishing a serene carriage ride through the picturesque Windsor Grounds.

This delightful outing marked a refreshing pause from her typically packed royal calendar.

At 59, Sophie embraced the moment, dressed warmly for the crisp morning air, donning a navy hat from the Prince Windsor Horse Show.

Her outfit was both stylish and practical, featuring a light-colored zippered jacket adorned with a soft brown collar, complemented by a vibrant turquoise knit top.

Sophie’s fashion choices reflect a thoughtful approach; she has a penchant for recycling outfits.

In fact, she wore that same jacket during a visit with soldiers from the Royal Anglian Regiment back in May 2021, when they were engaged in intense security training.

The Duchess of Edinburgh has been known to champion significant causes, including the Preventing s–ual Violence in Conflict Initiative (PSVI) and the Women, Peace and Security Agenda.

Her dedication to these issues highlights her commitment beyond royal duties.

However, on this particular day, it was all about enjoying a leisurely ride.

Carriage driving seems to run in the family, as many royals share this cherished pastime.

Lady Louise Windsor, Sophie’s daughter with , is also an enthusiastic participant.

Just last year, at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, proud parents Sophie and Edward beamed as they watched Lady Louise navigate the carriage with grace.

Interestingly, the late Duke of Edinburgh took up carriage driving later in life, starting at age 50.

In contrast, Lady Louise made her debut in the sport in 2021 at the tender age of 17.

It’s a lovely weekend activity, reminiscent of a round of golf, as the Duke once described it.

Recently, senior members of the royal family, including Sophie and Prince Edward, have stepped up their public appearances.

This comes as and Princess Kate take necessary time off to focus on their health.

In March, Kate shared an emotional message revealing her cancer diagnosis and the decision to undergo preventative chemotherapy.

Meanwhile, has been prioritizing family time, especially during school breaks.

He is not expected to return to his royal duties until his children are back in school after their Easter vacation.

This family-centered approach reflects the current priorities within the royal household.
