The Prince of Wales, who serves as the chairman of the British Academy Film Awards, disclosed that his busy schedule has left him with little opportunity to stay updated on the latest films.
The poignant revelation took place at the BAFTA Awards ceremony held at the Royal Festival Hall in London’s Southbank Centre on Sunday, February 18.
Prince William, expressing regret, apologized to Elaine Bedell, the chief executive of the Southbank Centre, for attending the event solo at the last minute while Princess Kate recuperates from abdominal surgery.
During the event, when inquired about his film viewing habits, Prince William candidly shared, “I’ve watched the fewest films ever this year.
It’s been challenging with my wife’s health, but hopefully, we can catch up soon.
I’ll be making my list tonight.”
Additionally, he mentioned his interest in watching “Barbie,” indicating a desire to explore more cinematic experiences.
As the President of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts since 2010, Prince William is a familiar face at the annual BAFTA Film Awards, which celebrate outstanding talent and craftsmanship in the film industry.
The Palace had announced his attendance at the event, highlighting his role in watching the awards ceremony and engaging with the winners and nominees, including those vying for the E Rising Star Award.
